Leaving from the island of Tybee, Georgia. It is twelve miles due east and on the Atlantic. Today I flew from San Francisco to Savannah. It reminded me of my first flight after I ran across the US, ALL THAT GROUND!!!!
Good weather on the forecast and relatively flat compared to where I have been training. Tonight I have been gathering last minute things only to scratch my head and wonder where am I going to put it all? The shop at Perry Rubber Bike Shop did an awesome job in setting up the bike. Air in tires, check. Lights, check and now bags attached and packed.
Just 2600 miles to go!
From the Airport I met Dee the cab driver. Like myself she is a proud driver of a minivan like myself. Of more importance she is also a person with Diabetes. While running me around on last minute errands Dee and I talked about running and basketball and her kids. We shared about Diabetes and her concerns for her and all children, adults too for that matter. After spending a couple hours with Dee I had realized she did me the greatest favor ever! She made me forget about what tomorrow would be like. So thank you Dee for taking my mind of the upcoming and pressing challenge.
The bike still needs a name. Any suggestions?
